Ayrton Jon Tonna Reflects on a Challenging Weekend at La Conca

Ayrton Jon Tonna returned from the second round of the ACI Karting Championship at La Conca with a wealth of experience.

The weekend began promisingly with a strong start in qualifying, securing P7 out of 30 drivers in Friday’s qualifying session. This strong performance set high expectations for the following races.

Saturday’s races brought a mix of setbacks. In the first heat, Ayrton’s engine failed to start, causing him to lose his P6 starting position. Despite his efforts to recover, he finished in P12. The second heat was marred by a penalty that forced Ayrton to start from P17. After making contact with another driver, he ended the race in P29.

Sunday’s final races tested Ayrton’s performance. In the first heat, starting from P23, he was pushed off track in the second lap, relegating him to the back of the pack. However, he managed to continue racing and finished in P29.

The final heat saw Ayrton starting from the last row in P29. Determined to make up ground, he climbed to P22 in the first lap and continued pushing throughout the race. Crossing the finish line in P15, Ayrton’s efforts were recognized despite two penalties, officially placing him 13th. Notably, he recovered 16 positions during this heat, a result to his strong character.

“Another race with many ups and downs, but I definitely learned a lot and gained much more experience,” said Ayrton. “This is what racing is about! Every race has its own story, but I am grateful for what I was able to accomplish in the Final.”

Ayrton expressed profound gratitude to his father, Jonathan Lee Tonna, who played multiple roles as his coach, mentor, and mechanic. He also thanked KidiX Driver Performance and his entire team for their continuous support. Lastly, Ayrton appreciated all his followers and supporters, looking forward to the next race with renewed enthusiasm.
