Johann Spiteri Secures Victory in Round 3 of Time Attack Sicilia

Johann Spiteri clinched victory in the third round of the Time Attack Sicilia at Racalmuto. Piloting a Mitsubishi Evo 6, finely tuned by Simon Giordmaina and running on Renegade Racing fuel for the first time, Spiteri blazed through the circuit to claim the top spot with a remarkable time of 1:09.107, becoming the sole contender to break the 1:10 barrier.

Under the guidance of Giordmaina, the vehicle underwent rigorous tuning throughout the sessions, with each adjustment inching the car closer to its peak performance. The decision to switch to new tires for the final runs, however, did not yield the anticipated improvement, prompting the team to conduct further analysis to unlock the car’s full potential in subsequent rounds.

Despite the minor setback, Spiteri and his team remain resolute in their pursuit of faster lap times, expressing satisfaction with their weekend’s achievements while setting their sights on future competitions. This victory marks Spiteri’s inaugural triumph with the Evo in Racalmuto, adding to Giordmaina’s growing list of successes at the circuit, which includes his maiden win.

Giordmaina commended the sportsmanship and great atmosphere among competitors and expressed gratitude to Charles Spiteri, Johann’s father, for his support throughout the weekend. Looking ahead, Giordmaina emphasized the team’s determination to extract additional power from the vehicle and deliver even faster performances in the upcoming races.
