Kimi Bugeja Second at the 5th Round of Coppa Italia in Sicily

The 5th round of the Coppa Italia in Sicily concluded with a great improvement and performance by Kimi Bugeja. Despite limited practice sessions on Friday and Saturday, Bugeja had great confidence for a strong showing in Sunday’s race.

Bugeja narrowly secured second place in the qualifying session, finishing just 0.008 seconds behind the pole-sitter after leading most of the session. In the Pre-Final, although he initially slipped from P2 to sixth place by the first corner, he kept on the momentum by climbing back to third.

In the final race, starting from third on the grid, Bugeja aimed to overcome previous misfortunes. His focus paid off as he secured his first podium of the year, overtaking the second-place driver to finish in an impressive second position, and setting fastest lap in both races.

Throughout the year, Bugeja has shown consistent improvement with every participation. Despite the challenges of limited practice on foreign tracks, he has continually pushed his limits, proving his talent. This performance culminated in his outstanding race performances in Sicily, where he overcame numerous obstacles to secure a well-deserved podium finish.

Gratitude is extended to VRT Motorsport, Vincenzo Vacante, and mechanics Fabio and Simone Catenacci for their exceptional support with the engine, including Snow White Meat and Poultry Market, Michael Attard Ltd, JL Hotel, and Kimi’s beloved family for their never ending support.
