Mason Barun’s Debut at the Swiss Karting Championship in Franciacorta

Mason Barun made a strong impression at the Swiss Karting Championship held at Franciacorta despite the challenges of a new track. This event marked Barun’s first encounter with the Franciacorta circuit, with only eight 10-minute practice sessions to prepare, facing a steep learning curve.

In the qualifying session, Barun placed 10th and secured 6th position in the first race. In the second race, he initially finished 5th, but a 3-second penalty at the start dropped him to 13th.

Starting the final race from 7th position, Barun fought hard to advance to 5th place. However, maintaining this position proved challenging, and he fell back to 7th. Due to penalties affecting other drivers, he ultimately claimed 5th place overall.

Barun expressed satisfaction with his performance but acknowledged room for improvement. He remains committed to refining his skills ahead of the WSK event at the same venue in June.

Barun extended heartfelt thanks to his parents, family, and friends for their support along with his sponsors, Solana Hotel & Spa, Progressive Information Systems Ltd, GLD Racing, and Gold Kart for their chassis and support. Special mentions included Nicola Boscaini for the engine, and his dedicated team members Gianluca Dingli, Maurizio Capuzzo, Diego Righetti, and the Gold mechanic Marco.

With his debut at Franciacorta behind him, Barun looks ahead with making more improvements and better results in the WSK event next Month.
