Zach Zammit Prepares for Prescott Hill Climb

Fresh off an impressive performance at the British Hillclimb Championship’s third round at Shelsley Walsh, Zach Zammit is gearing up for the fifth round of the Midland Hillclimb Championship this weekend at Prescott. This marks the 44th year of the Midland Hillclimb Championship, which has been a staple in the racing community since its inception in 1980.

Zammit had a great performance at Shelsley Walsh, one of the most historic and challenging hillclimb venues in the UK. His performance solidified his reputation as a formidable competitor in the championship. Now, all eyes are on him as he prepares to tackle Prescott, another iconic venue known for its demanding course and competitive field.

Prescott, located in Cheltenham and run by the Bugatti Owners Club since 1938, will host the fifth round of the Midland Hillclimb Championship. This event is a highlight in the hill climbing calendar, attracting around 120 cars and a dedicated fanbase. Competitors will face the challenging 1,127-yard course, which demands precision and speed.

Zammit will compete in Class K2, which features forced induction cars over 1600cc and up to 2000cc. Six cars are entered in this class, promising high competition. Zammit’s personal best time at Prescott is an impressive 37.29 seconds, a benchmark he aims to surpass.

Driving a 2019 Empire Wraith, Zammit’s car is a marvel of engineering. It features a Suzuki 1300cc turbocharged engine running on methanol, producing up to 375bhp and weighing just 350kg. This high-performance machine, designed by Willem Toet and built by Empire Racing Cars, is meticulously prepared by Bill Chaplin, the owner of Empire Racing Cars.

Zammit’s racing endeavors are proudly sponsored by Ben Estates, whose support has been instrumental in his racing success. Fans can follow his progress and get behind-the-scenes updates on his Facebook page, Zach Zammit Racing.

For those who can’t make it to Prescott, the event will be live-streamed on the Hillclimb UK YouTube channel, providing real-time coverage. Additionally, live timing can be accessed on www.resultsman.co.uk, allowing fans to stay up-to-date with the latest results.

With a strong track record, Zach Zammit is prepared to make another significant impact at Prescott this weekend.
